Lika Electronic is releasing new SFP series cable-pulling encoders that provide linear position feedback over distances from 300 mm / 11.8” to 2000 mm / 78.7” with analog outputs.
Customers can now benefit through more choice in the range of cable pulling measuring solutions to select from. Lika Electronic is introducing two more output signal options in the SFP draw wire units series: 4-20mA current output and 0-10V voltage output. Analog models come to complement the 1 to 20 kΩ potentiometer selection.
Compact and robust, SFP stringpots have a rugged aluminium housing and use a reliable stainless steel draw-wire mechanism. They are protected to IP64 and can operate in ambient temperatures from -25°C to +85°C (-13°F +185°F). They are available in five measuring ranges: 300 mm / 11.8”, 500 mm / 19.7”, 1000 mm / 39.4”, 1500 mm / 59” and 2000 mm / 78.7” and allow for wide cable misalignment. Aimed at linear measurement applications across all industries with medium-short displacements and limited space, they are well matched to telescopic systems and hydraulic pistons (for instance in mobile equipment such as outriggers, stabilizing slides, telescopic cranes, booms, etc), forklifts, printing machines, medical technology applications such as in examination tables, dentist’s chairs and laboratory testing devices, among others. Furthermore, they are a cost-effective alternative to the linear potentiometers in applications where reliable and low- cost position verification is required.
Lika Electronic offers a full line of “cable pulling” measuring solutions including stringpots (potentiometers) as well as incremental, absolute, fieldbus, Ethernet and ATEX draw-wire encoders.
